Studies of Blood Group Antigens in Benign and Malignant Human Breast Tissue.

چکیده
the malignant process is uncertain. Blood group antigens provide a convenient system for the study of changes related to malignancy. The structure of the ABO and Rh blood group antigens is well studied. They are present in almost all body tis sues; highly specific antisera can be produced, and various specific tests for these antigens exist (1, 4, 6, 10). ABO and D (Rh0) blood group antigen distri bution (3) in benign and malignant breast tissues were studied by fluorescent-antibody staining and hemagglutination inhibition to determine whether any changes were evident with malignancy. The female breast was chosen because of the possible interrelationship of fibrocystic disease and breast cancer (11).

Absence of Human Papillomavirus in Benign and Malignant Breast Tissue
Background & Objective: Malignant breast tumors, which are one of the most important deadly cancers in women, like many other cancers, are proposed to be related to viruses etiologically. Proper management of breast carcinoma necessitates an identification of the etiological factors. Human Papillomavirus is considered to have an etiological role in breast carcinoma. We...
متن کاملDetection of Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) in the Benign and Malignant Breast Tumors by Polymerase chain Reaction
This study aimed to investigate the frequency of Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) in benign and malignant breast tumors. A total of 24 carcinomas and 24 fibroadenomas paraffin embedded tumoral tissue samples were obtained from the pathology sections of Toos and Firoozgar hospitals in Tehran, Iran. All samples were collected from patients from June 2011 to February 2012. DNA was extracted from all s...
متن کاملFrequency of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in benign and malignant tumors
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a widespread pathogen that is found in milk, saliva, urine, cervical secretions, and semen fluid. It is supposed that CMV is a risk factor for breast cancer. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of CMV among benign and malignant breast tumors. Paraffin embedded breast carcinoma (n=24) and fibroadenoma (n=24) samples were collected from Toos and Firoozgar...
متن کاملDifferentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions by apparent diffusion coefficient value in mass and non-mass lesions
Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is one of methods in evaluation of breast lesions. We aimed to investigate the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in breast tumors and their accuracy in differentiating benign versus malignant lesions. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 72 patients with 88 breast lesions were investigated by 1.5-T breast MRI from 2015 to 2017 in Athari...
متن کاملCorrelation of Hormone Receptor Expression with Histologic Parameters in Benign and Malignant Breast Tumors
Background and Objective: Breast cancer is the commonest cancer of Indian women. Estrogen and Progesterone expression is seen in benign breast lesions and in breast carcinoma associated with good prognostic parameters and it correlates well with response to hormone therapy. Although a lot of studies have been conducted in the past on hormone receptor expression in breast cancer and few have cor...
